The Shogun 50 (www.shogunyacht.se) is a high performance modern racer designed by Håkan Södergren and Oscar Södergren (www.sodergrenyacths.se) for a client who wished for something more suited to short-handed racing and archipelagic cruising than his previous yacht.
The focus is on performance in light and medium airs with a rig similar to an IMOCA 60 rig with a working jib set on an inner forestay/lock for efficient sailing in reefed mode. Weight is moderated by a triple spreader high modulus tube and solid Carbon Fibre rigging from Smart Rigging.
